CHAPTER SEVENTEEN

“Throw me those fuses, will you?” Toby barks at me.

“Say please, Toby, and I might consider it.”

He glares at me, I get back to work.

“Fuck,” he mutters. “Please?”

I inwardly grin and throw him the fuses.

“See, that wasn’t so hard.”

He doesn’t answer. I think we’re bonding.

“Quinn?”

I lift my head and see Tazen standing in the doorway to the office. It’s been a week since he gave me the job as one of his mechanics, and since then we’ve not had a second to even look at each other. I’m not entirely sure if what we did was a one-time thing or if he wants more. We didn’t exactly have a smooth start. He crooks his finger at me and I get up, moving towards him.

I don’t get to finish my sentence because he takes my arm and hauls me into the office. He kicks the door closed, jerks the blinds down and spins on me.
